Tuesday 15th June

Into Sequoia National Park.
We start to climb and reach reasonable altitudes now, we start at 3000 ft at the Motel and ride into the park, it opens at 9 a.m., as we ride on thru we come across road works that don’t finish until 9.30 a.m., hmmm who’s not talking to who?
Still it gives me time to look at the squiggly yellow line, that’s the route up the thru the park for us.

At 7000 ft we reach Morrow rock, supposedly the best viewing point in the park.

I climb right to the very top of this rock holding onto the guard rails whilst taking pictures at 7500 ft, panting like a dog after the climb, still the views were worth it. The heat haze affected the clarity of the pictures a little, but hopefully the sense of vastness can be seen.

We carried on into Sequoia and went to the Sherman Tree. Again if you see the people at the bottom of the tree some scale can be had of the size of the tree.

The texture and colour of the inside of this fallen tree comes thru in the photograph.

For you cuddly furry animal lovers out there here's a treat, this is Chip, he's just a cuddly colourful rodent really but ahhhh.

On the way out of the park we rode thru this tree tunnel, after stopping a few cars first while 11 grown men had there picture taken underneath a fallen tree.
